How to make shabby chic decoupage box with lavander napkins

Here is what you need for this project:
- wooden or MDF box
- acrylic paint
- candle
- sandpaper
- decoupage glue
- varnish
- napkin

First you need to paint wooden box with violet acrylic paint.
When it is dry rub a candle on the side of the box.
After you did that you should paint the whole box with
white acrylic paint. On the cover of the box apply a thin
layer of decoupage glue. Take a top layer of the napkin
( the one with picture) and gently apply it over the
cover of the box. If you cannot achieve that there are no
creases and air bubbles you can use a plastic kitchen wrap
and apply it on napkin and gently press with fingers all over
the napkin. After than gently remove plastic wrap.
Now take decoupage glue and cover the napkin.
Do gentle movements with brush from the middle of the
napkin toward the edges.
As the decoupage glue dries it will become transparent.
Take a sandpaper and gently sand the box on the place
where you have rubbed the candle. The violet paint will
start to show and it will get that shabby shic old look.
At the end make 2 coats of varnish.
I hope you liked how this decoupage jewelry box came out..

Shabby chic decoupage table with scratches

decoupage shabby chic table with scratches DIY ideas decorations tutorial

Shabby chic decoupage table with scratches

First you need to clean the table. If you want to use acrylic paint
on your table you have to sand it well and than apply paint. If you
don´t want to overwork yourself then chalk paint is great for you
because you don´t need to sand it. When the paint is dry you should
take a regular white candle and rub your table vith it. I rubbed top
of my table and lower shelf. After that I applied one coat of violet
acrylic paint. When it was dry I took sandpaper and gently rubbed
over the top of the table and lower shelf. You can do this even if
you don´t use candle, but this way scratches will be more beautiful
and the orignal paint of the table will not show through.
After sanding I took a napkin (only top printed layer) and I soaked
my brush in water and gently went with my brush around the motive
that I needed. After that it is easy to tear the image out.
The image will not have clear edges and it will better incorporate
to the background. I applied a thin layer of decoupage glue onto
the table where my motive will be and gently placed a napkin.
You can use plastic kitchen wrap and gently press the napkin,
that way you want have wrinkless on your motive and it´s less
possble that you will tear the napkin.
You should remove the plastic wrap and apply decoupage glue with
brush (from the center to the edges of the motive).
When it dries decoupage glue becomes transparent.
At the end I gave it few coats of varnish.

decoupage shabby chic table

decoupage table antique shabby chic DIY ideas tutorial picture

Decoupage shabby chic table

This was my sisters old table and I decided to give it back life
with some romantic colors and motives. If you want to use acrylic
paint you should first sand it well. But if you don´t want to
overwork yourself you can just clean it and apply chalk paint.
When you´re done leave it to dry well.
I took a napkin (only top printed layer) and I soaked my brush in
water and gently went with my brush around the motive that I needed.
After that is easy to tear the image off. The image will not have
clear edges and it will better incorporate to the background.
I applied a thin layer of decoupage glue onto the table and gently
placed a napkin motive. You can also take a kitchen wrap and gently
press over the napkin. This way there will be no wrinkless.
Now you should remove the napkin and apply decoupage glue ( from
the center to the edges of the motive). When it dries decoupage
glue will become transparent.
I took a violet acrylic paint and soaked my finger in it
(you can use something else like sponge) and I was crossing
over the edges and other parts of table with paint.
At the end I did few layers with warnish.
I also made a wall mirror for her with a same motive.

DECOUPAGE ceramic wall decoration with crackles

decoupage canvas picture with crackle medium DIY ideas decorations craft tutorial

DECOUPAGE ceramic wall decoration with crackles

I found at home ceramic tile which was wall decoration and I decided to
give it a makeover. First I painted it with white acrylic primer.
When it dryed I gave it another coat of pink acrylic paint.Later that color
will show through the cracks, After drying
I applyed one component crackle medium. But you should
do that carefully, don´t go several times with a brush over the same place
because that will probably ruin your cracks. When you are done leave it
to dry well. Next step is to paint it with white acrylic paint
(or any other color you choose). At this point you also need to be careful
and not overlap the layers of paint. As soon as you start painting
you will notice that cracks are already showing.
I took a napkin (only top printed layer) and I soaked my brush in water
and gently went with my brush around the motive that I needed.
After that is easy to tear the image off. The image will not have
clear edges and it will better incorporate to the background.
I applied a thin layer of decoupage glue onto the tile and gently
placed a napkin motive. Then I took a plastic kitchen wrap and gently
pressed over the napkin. This way there will be no wrinkless.
I removed a plastic wrap and apllied decoupage glue (from the center
to the edges of the motive). When it dries decoupage glue becomes
transparent. I decorated edges of the picture with sponge and pink
acrylic paint and covered the whole tile with a varnish.

How to make decoupage box with crackle medium and paper flowers

decoupage with crackle medium and pink paper flowers DIY ideas decorations craft tutorial
How to make decoupage box with crackle medium and paper flowers

Here is what you need for this project:
- wooden or MDF box
- acrylic paint
- one component crackle medium
- decoupage glue
- varnish

Paint the box with violet acrylic paint. When it dries
apply one component crackle medium on the top of the box.
Do short movements with a brush, don´t exceed a few times
over the same place. When it is dry do the same with white
acrylic paint. Don´t overlap the layers of the paint.
Very soon after you apply the paint the cracks will
start to show. Leave it to dry completely.
A thicker coat results in larger cracks.
Now you can apply decoupage glue on the places where
the paper flowers will be. Gently press paper flowers
with your fingers and add another coat of decoupage
glue over the flowers. After everything is dry apply
varnish outside and inside the box.
And that´s it. This beautiful romantic decoupage box
os done. Hope you enjoyed it.

DIY anna

Hi :)

My name is Ana.
I'll show you a variety of DIY crafts..
Few months ago I started my YouTube channel "DIY anna"..
There you can find paper crafts, christmas and
easter decorations,quilling ideas, decoupage
and much more..
You can see my channel here and SUBSCRIBE
if you like it..
Hope you will find ideas that can help you..
Of all the techniques I like the most decoupage.
This technique I accidentally discovered and I
immediately fell in love with it..
Decoupage or Dècoupage is the art of decorating
an object by gluing colored paper cutouts or napkins
onto it in combination with special
paint effects, gold leaf and other decorative elements.
Commonly an object like a small box or an item
of furniture is covered by cutouts from magazines
or from purpose-manufactured papers. I find this
technique very relaxing for me..

Here are some pictures of my crafts:
